Edit : It had been a long time since I wanted to change the forgery, as well as the ugly signature. Now it's done.

My vision of the allegory of the death...
No ref Painter + Photoshop
Edit : Yes, I DID that without any reference. I didn't say without any inspirations ( Because obviously, I had one major : Lord of the ring's nazguls. ). But this is all.
dark brandon: I've known death for a long time and i must say your representation is...how to say this.... close but not quite all there. but it is still an outstanding piece of work.
light brandon: wow. you dark brandon giving a complement?! you're getting soft or maybe you are starting to finally mature?
dark brandon: dream on angel filth, i may be evil but that doesn't mean i can't appreciate art you know!
game brandon: i think I've seen him some where was it the lord of the rings level wow haven't seen a wraith in quite a while, sigh i miss my old 2d levels.
It's definitely a very good piece of digital art indeed; for piece that was done more less on the proverbial ad hoc interpretation without reference or such. It's nothing new when it comes to interpretations of Death - hence my seemingly low originality rating but the piece is imaginative enough to stand on it's own. So, while it is clear that it was inspired on Nazgul/ standard Western image of Death, it is a good piece.
The technique is good; the only thing that really goes against you is that the closest trees to Death seem slightly blurred - or in fact lacking sharp drawing lines. While normally that is irrelevant, in this case it contrasts heavily with style used to draw Death and it's horse, making it a minor peeve. Death's head and neck as well as the hoofs seem to be tethering on the edge of sensible proportions - it is something you might like to watch in future pieces. Another minor issue was the blood or in fact the minor amount of it; you clearly wanted to put it there - dripping from the scythe as well as the horse, but it's drawn with such reticence when it comes to amount, it's not as impacting as it could have been. I'm not on the other hand telling you to make 25% of the snow tainted with blood; indeed only maybe 40% more of the current amount and it would be perfect.
The vision was fresh enough with the backdrop - while the the originality of design is like I said, nothing game changing, the background in which Death is drawn is fresh. Vision is not something I can really produce critique on that's productive - after all, I can't exactly digitally transfer the powers of imagination from nowhere.
The impact because of original backdrop as well as classical but very good rendition of Death makes this a very eye catching piece. Kudos to you for a very good piece.
